AHSFA Application

AHSFA Diploma Criteria

The Alberta High School of Fine Arts Diploma is awarded to those students who have received 30 or more credits (with at least 10 credits at the grade 12 level) in arts-related courses during their high school career.

Additionally, students will take Professionalism in the Arts 35  (additional 5 credits) in their grade 12 year where they will work towards  a portfolio or performance presentation, culminating in the AHSFA Grad Showcase.  Therefore, students must graduate AHSFA with at least 35 Fine Arts credits.

The AHSFA Diploma signifies that a student has obtained a strong background in one of the three areas of specialization: Performing Arts, Visual Arts, or Technical Arts.  Eligible courses are listed below…

Visual Arts

  • Art 10/20/30

  • Communication Technology 15/25/35
  • Information & Design Technology 15/25/35
  • Professional Studio Arts 10/20/30

Performing Arts

  • Music – Instrumental 10/20/30
  • Music – Choral 15/25/35
  • Music – Jazz Band 15/25/35
  • Music – General 10/20/30
  • Dance 15/25/35

  • Advanced Acting/Tour Theatre 15/25/35

Technical Arts
